Mr. Phil Hudema - Principal//Choir Director/Sports Coordinator/7th & 8th Grade Teacher
Mr. Phil Hudema and his wife, Kristie of 22 years, have two children and are from British Columbia, Canada. He was born and raised in Canada and graduated from Fraser Valley Adventist Academy. He then, went on to Canadian Union College where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Education and Physical Education. He taught second grade and seventh grade for two years at College Height Adventist Jr. Academy in Canada. Then, Mr. Hudema moved to Tampa, Florida where he was the Physical Education teacher and Athletics Director at Tampa Adventist Academy. For a change of pace, he moved his family to Newbury Park, California where he has been Principal of CAES for the past five years. All together, he has been teaching for 26 years. Here at CAES, Mr. Hudema is in charge of our sports program and is the upper grades choir director. Mr. Hudema loves the "family" spirit at Conejo Adventist Elementary School, and having a part in a child's life that allows them to be successful. "We have the greatest parents and the sweetest kids."

Mrs. Jennifer Lew - Kindergarten Teacher/Choir Director
Mrs. Jennifer Lew lives in Newbury Park with her husband, Brendon, their two children, Nathan and Eliza, and their cherished rabbits and gold fish. Mrs. Lew was raised in Lodi, CA and graduated from high school from Lodi Academy. After high school, she continued her education at Pacific Union College in Angwin, CA where she majored in liberal studies with a minor in math. During her college experience she traveled to Japan where she lived in Hiroshima for one year. In 1994 she moved to Newbury Park where she joined the staff on Conejo Adventist Elementary School. This is her 10th year at Conejo Adventist Elementary School. Her teaching experiences include 6 years of teaching 3rd and 4th grade and 3 years teaching 1st and 2nd grade. She chose to take some time off to have her two children and during that time she worked with home school students as a tutor. She also kept her heart with CAES as our lower grades choir director. This will be Mrs. Lew's 3rd year of teaching Kindergarten. Mrs. Lew enjoys participating in a book club and growing vegetables and flowers in her garden at home. She also loves being a part of the praise team at church and teaching cradle roll at The Place. Mrs. Lew's teaching passions include helping children learn through songs and movement and exposing children to a variety of authors and illustrators. She would like to start a children's garden at our new school.
Mrs. Kay Meager - 1st & 2nd Grade Teacher
Mrs. Kay Meager is in her 26th year of teaching. She has proudly raised a family of three children with her husband, Pastor Larry Meager. She was born and raised in Syracuse, New York and graduated from high school from Union Springs Academy in Union Springs, NY. For college she went to Atlantic Union College in S. Lancaster, MA. Her qualifications include a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and a Masters Degree in Education-Reading which she obtained at the State University of New York. Her teaching history includes teaching grades 4, 5, and 6 at Worcester Seventh-day Adventist, Long-term substituting in Norwich Public Schools in New York, and teaching grades 1 & 2 at Foothill Seventh-day Adventist, Modesto SDA, and Conejo Adventist Elementary School. She has been with us for 7 years and is our acting principal in Mr. Hudema's absence. Mrs. Meager's passions about teaching are starting the children out in reading.
Mrs. Robin Shea - 3rd & 4th Grade Teacher

Mrs. Shea was raised in Newbury Park, where she still resides with her husband, Branon, and two children, Nolan and Camdyn. She attended CAES from K-8th grade and also graduated from NPAA. After high school, Mrs. Shea persued a liberal studies degree from La Sierra University. She received her Bachelor's degree in 2003. She began her teaching career here at CAES teaching Kindergarten. She took two years off to raise her children and returned to us to teach 3rd and 4th grade. In her spare time, Mrs. Shea enjoyes swimming, water sports, music, but mostly, spending time with her family. Mrs. Shea feels that teaching is something that she was made to do . Everyday she looks forward to laughing and learning with her students. "There is no other school I would rather be at than CAES. It truly feels like home to me."
Mrs. Stacy Doyle - 5th & 6th Grade Teacher
Mrs. Stacy Doyle has been teaching 5th & 6th grade at CAES for a whole decade! Mrs. Doyle graduated from Loma Linda Academy and went on to Pacific Union College where she graduated in 1999 with a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies and in 2000 with her Master of Arts in Education. Mrs. Doyle is a lover of books. Her favorite part of teaching is discussing literature with her students. When she's not reading, Mrs. Doyle can be found at the beach, spending time with her husband, Matt, and their daughter, Finley.

Mrs. Teresa Cabrera - Afterschool Care Director
